Context

In response to the increase in the volume of recyclable waste and environmental requirements, this project is part of an approach to waste management and recovery in Burgundy-Franche-Comté. The expansion of the centre will optimise sorting, improve the recovery of materials and encourage environmentally responsible practices among residents.

Solution

To support this strategic modernisation, Sfil and La Banque Postale have granted a green loan of €7 million over 10 years, enabling SMET 71 to finance equipment to modernise the sorting centre. By supporting this project, Sfil is contributing to the circular economy and the reduction of the environmental impact of waste treatment.

Results

This project will contribute to the automation of sorting lines, the improvement of treatment capacities and the integration of more efficient technologies, thus guaranteeing more effective sorting. With a capacity of 30,000 tonnes/year, the modernised sorting centre will improve the recovery of recyclable waste while significantly reducing the volumes landfilled. This initiative reinforces the region’s commitment to sustainable resource management.
