2024
Lorient Agglomération is installing a solar farm covering 7 hectares in Inzinzac-Lochrist. Equipped with 8,500 photovoltaic panels, it will offer a maximum power of 5 MWp and an estimated annual production of 6 GWh, equivalent to the electricity consumption of 2,000 households.

As part of its climate-air-energy plan, Lorient Agglomération has set itself the target of covering 50% of the energy consumption of its assets with renewable energy by 2025.
The installation of a new solar farm on the Kermat site is part of the region’s desire to significantly increase the amount of locally produced photovoltaic electricity while developing areas that cannot be used for other purposes. This infrastructure complements other existing solar installations and contributes to the region’s energy sovereignty.
To support this strategic project, Sfil and La Banque Postale have granted funding of 1.5 million euros. This 20-year loan allows Lorient Agglomération to realise this initiative with the benefit of stable and appropriate financial support. By facilitating cost control, it contributes to the sustainability of the project while accelerating the sustainable development of the territory, thus strengthening the attractiveness and resilience of the community in the face of environmental challenges.
With an estimated production of 6 GWh/year, this solar farm will be able to supply the equivalent of 2,000 households with electricity while rehabilitating 7 hectares of unusable land. This project illustrates the commitment of Lorient Agglomération to a more sustainable energy model.
