Interns and Apprentices: Growing, Learning, and Building Skills at Sfil

Interns and apprentices are an essential part of our daily life at Sfil. Our teams include more than 400 employees, with over 10% in apprenticeship positions. For us, an internship or an apprenticeship is a valuable opportunity to welcome new talent. It is also a chance to share the unique aspects of our professions, with the ambition of building a lasting relationship with them.

At Sfil, we strive to offer our juniors a balanced environment where they can learn, grow, and receive training, while actively contributing to tasks and assignments that help them develop autonomy and skills.

What they like the most about working here

  • Personalized support from mentors and our HR teams: At Sfil, supporting apprentices is a top priority. Each individual benefits from personalized follow-up and career progress thanks to the attentive presence of mentors and the involvement of our human resources teams. This close support provides concrete daily assistance, helps facilitate skill development, and allows for a quick response to any needs or questions that may arise throughout the program. All our mentors have received specific training to support junior profiles. We also have a dedicated HR team to ensure ongoing follow-up and their well-being, with pre-scheduled individual meetings throughout their time with us.

What I value most about this company is the opportunity to learn and grow under the guidance of my mentor, who is truly an expert in their field. Their expertise not only helps me develop advanced technical skills but also gives me deeper insights into various aspects of the professional world that I hadn’t fully considered before. Every day, I feel inspired by our discussions and the knowledge they share with me, making my experience here incredibly rewarding.

  • A strong community with regular events : Numerous events throughout the year, encouraging interaction and integration: integration days to welcome each new cohort, informal breakfasts, career discovery meetings to explore the diversity of backgrounds and expertise, as well as speed networking sessions that foster experience sharing between apprentices and other Sfil employees.
These regular events strengthen the sense of belonging to a dynamic and close-knit community.
  • The sense of making a tangible contribution to a public interest mission: What makes our apprentices proud is also the opportunity to play a role in a mission of public interest by supporting essential projects for the community, whether it’s financing local infrastructure, driving the ecological transition, or fostering regional development.

The company’s mission is truly meaningful and beneficial to society. The people here are wonderful—attentive, kind, and supportive. Since it’s a relatively small company, there’s plenty of opportunity to learn across various fields. I also find the location excellent, with beautiful office spaces. There’s even a spacious bike storage area to promote eco-friendly commuting.

  • A human-sized company that fosters real proximity and offers cross-functional assignments: Sfil stands out for its human scale, which encourages close relationships among everyone, regardless of department or level of experience. This organization allows each apprentice to get involved in cross-functional projects, broaden their skills, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s challenges. Everyone can find their place, share their ideas, and actively participate in the life of Sfil.

A specific recruitment process for our interns & apprentices

For apprentices, our key recruitment period is between March and June before officially welcoming them in the company during the month of September. For interns, recruitment is more closely aligned with the specific needs of our various departments. All our opportunities are available on platforms such as Welcome To The Jungle, LinkedIn, Indeed, Jobteaser, as well as on our careers website.

What really matters to us are your skills and your motivation for the position. In a context where each apprenticeship opening attracts an average of 200 applications, we understand how challenging it can be to stand out. Nevertheless, we firmly believe that background diversity is an asset to the company. As proof, our apprentices for the 2025/2026 cohort come from more than 30 different schools.

Our processes are transparent and structured: CVs are first reviewed by our recruiters, based on criteria defined with managers (key skills, field of study, apprenticeship schedule, etc.). Once shortlisted, candidates are contacted by our dedicated HR team for an initial phone interview, followed by one or two operational interviews. Finally, we provide a prompt response and, if applicable, a final offer.

To help you prepare for your interviews with us, we highly recomment that you check our latest news on LinkedIn. By discussing our recent achievements or future projects, you will demonstrate to your interviewers both your motivation and your understanding of the challenges Sfil is facing.

Finally, nothing illustrates what we stand for better than the testimonials of our interns and apprentices. This is why we are proud to have received the Happy Trainees label, which demonstrates the high standards we set for supporting our junior profiles.
